Wir schauen auf die dunkleren Seiten der Ära: die pessimistischen Schicksalserzählungen des französischen Kinos am Vorabend des Zweiten Weltkriegs, die Macht der Nazi-Propagandafilme, Herz und Gemüt der Deutschen zu formen, sowie Hollywoods Erforschung der eigenen Psyche in den düsteren Labyrinthen des Film Noir.
